ABOUT TRAILER WORLD

Trailer World is part of the Thoroughbred Floats & Engineering family – a New Zealand‑owned group that has been building and caring for quality trailers, floats and recreational vehicles for decades.

From our base at 142 Whangarata Rd, Tuakau, Waikato, we design, manufacture and service heavy‑duty NZ‑made trailers for domestic, farm, commercial and fleet customers. We also offer full custom builds, leasing options and ongoing maintenance support.

In 2024, Thoroughbred purchased Trailer World, with founder Paul staying on as part of the team. That means you now get the best of both worlds: Trailer World’s proven trailer designs and reputation, backed by Thoroughbred’s engineering depth and systems.

Behind the brand is owner Alanna Aarts, alongside Mark Aarts and a tight, highly experienced crew who live and breathe trailers, floats and engineering.

A HISTORY OF DOING THINGS PROPERLY

100%

NEW ZEALAND

MADE

Trailer World is a New Zealand trailer manufacturer based at 142 Whangarata Rd, Tuakau, Waikato, building tough, hot‑dip galvanised trailers for people who use them every day – tradies, farmers, fleets and serious home users.

We specialise in:

  • Heavy duty single and tandem axle trailers

  • Premium commercial and fleet trailers

  • Custom built transporters and specialist units

  • Trailer servicing, repairs and upgrades

  • Quality accessories, cages, ramps and storage solutions

When you see the Trailer World badge, you’re looking at a trailer that’s been designed, built and backed by people who do this for a living – not a flat‑pack kit.

100% NZ‑Made, Built From Scratch

“NZ‑made” gets thrown around a lot. At Trailer World it actually means:

  • Manufactured from scratch in New Zealand – not just bolted together from imported parts.

  • RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) steel construction instead of light angle iron, for genuine strength and stiffness.

  • Extra bearers and back drawbars under the deck, so the structure keeps its shape under real loads.

  • Hot‑dip galvanised for long‑term corrosion protection.

We’d rather be accused of over‑building a trailer than cutting corners. It’s why so many of our early trailers are still out there working hard.

Designed for NZ Loads, Roads and Worksites

Every Trailer World design starts with where and how it will be used:

  • Farm tracks and lifestyle blocks – clearance, articulation and mud‑friendly details.

  • Urban trade and civil work – easy loading, secure storage and safe tie‑downs.

  • Long‑haul transport and fleet use – stable towing, correct braking and compliance.

We match the trailer to the job, then to the tow vehicle, so you end up with something that actually works – not just looks right on paper.

Experience You Can Feel in the Trailer

Trailer World has been producing New Zealand‑made trailers since 2000, developing a strong reputation for build quality and backup service. In 2024, Trailer World joined the Thoroughbred Floats & Engineering group, with founder Paul staying on and adding his experience to a broader engineering team.

Today, the business is led by Alanna Aarts and a tight crew of trailer specialists who spend their days designing, fabricating, repairing and improving trailers. Combined, the management and workshop team brings decades of hands‑on trailer and engineering experience – and you can feel that knowledge in the way a Trailer World trailer tows, loads and lasts.

More Than Just New Trailers

Because we run a full trailer workshop, Trailer World can support you through the whole life of your trailer:

  • Servicing & WOF prep – brakes, bearings, suspension, electrics and structural checks.

  • Repairs & modifications – from accident repairs to structural upgrades and refits.

  • Custom builds – one‑off solutions or standardised specs for fleets and business customers.

  • Parts and accessories – wheel clamps, ramps, cages, covers, storage boxes and more.

Through our sister operation Storage Care Hub, we also offer secure storage, maintenance coordination and compliance reminders for customers who want their gear kept ready to go – but that’s an optional extra. At the core, Trailer World is about building and looking after serious trailers.

Why Trailer World?

When you’re choosing a trailer, you’re really choosing the team behind it. Trailer World stands out because:

  • We build them here – genuine NZ manufacturing from raw steel to finished trailer.

  • We over‑engineer, on purpose – more strength in the chassis, drawbar and under‑deck bearers.

  • We understand real‑world use – our customers are tradies, farmers, contractors and families who can’t afford failures.

  • We can customise – from small tweaks to full bespoke builds.

  • We stand behind what we sell – with service, repairs and support for the long haul.
