FAQs

What’s included in the price, and what upgrades should I consider?

Pricing depends on model and size. Common “worth it” upgrades include a jockey wheel, spare wheel & mount, fitted cover, storage box, LED lights, and security options. We’ll quote the trailer and any add‑ons clearly so you can compare like‑for‑like.

What’s the lead time - can I get one quickly?

Many trailers are available in stock, while others are made to order depending on size and demand. Send an enquiry and we’ll confirm current availability and realistic timeframes.

Can I view one, or talk through the best option before committing?

Yes - if you’re unsure, we can talk you through the best model (standard vs high sider vs cage, single vs tandem, cover options, etc.) and help you choose a setup that suits your work, storage space and budget before you go ahead.

How do I choose the right trailer in New Zealand?

Choose a trailer based on your typical load, how often you tow, your storage space, and your towing vehicle. If you tell us what you’re carrying and where you’re towing, we’ll recommend the right trailer size and spec.

What’s the difference between single axle and tandem axle?

  • Single axle: lighter and easier to manoeuvre - great for lighter loads.

  • Tandem axle: more stable and better suited to heavier loads and frequent use.

Do I need a braked trailer?

It depends on your tow vehicle and your load. If you’re carrying heavier loads or towing regularly, brakes can improve safety and control. We’ll advise based on your setup.

What should I look for in a “heavy duty” trailer?

A heavy duty trailer is built with a stronger chassis and running gear - look for a robust steel structure, quality axle/suspension components, and construction designed to handle NZ roads and work conditions.

What should I look for when comparing NZ made trailers vs imported trailers?

When comparing NZ made trailers vs imports, look at chassis design, weld quality, corrosion protection, running gear, and overall build strength. A well-built trailer will tow better, last longer, and often hold value better.

Do you deliver trailers across New Zealand?

Delivery can be arranged depending on trailer type and location. Send us your town/city and the trailer you’re interested in and we’ll advise delivery options.

What warranty do Trailer World trailers come with?

Trailer World trailers come with a 5‑year structural warranty, giving you confidence your trailer is built to last.

What’s the difference between a Standard trailer and High Sider?

A standard trailer suits general loads and everyday hauling. A High Sider trailer adds extra side height for bulky loads like mulch, bark and green waste.

Can I add a fitted cover, cage, or racks to this trailer?
